Guest Post: Christian Recording Artist Jenise La Vonne On The Power of Influence

Every now and then I take an evaluation on myself. I look at my clothes, my conversation, my thoughts, my behavior, my company, and my work performance and I reflect on it. I look at those things and I think, what is taking priority in my life? What am I doing? Where am I headed? What message am I conveying to my peers? The answers to these questions come together and meet in the center, revealing exactly what I’ve been subjecting my spirit to. I am a born again believer of Jesus Christ. My focus should be Him and His will. Who I am and what I do should reflect Him however sometimes that is not the case.

I look around at the world sometimes and I just cry. I cry at the state of the people of God in these last days. It alarms me when I see reports of secret societies, Free Masons, and the ever emerging Illuminati and the amount of attention and influence it has gained in our society. Sure the initial intention of all the revelations and exposure was to make aware or dare I saw warn people however it has caused an uproar and in a discrete and conniving sort of way manipulates and even molds the core of popular culture. Through several hours of research I discovered several pages of literature and videos that brought light to the demise of this world yet found very few on groups or videos of things that give a solution to the obvious problem. Growing more and more curious (and not to mention disturbed) noticing how all of the negative is glorified and the positive nonexistent, I also noticed how these things have latched on to the people of God and have manipulated our lives and purpose for being.

There is an insatiable desire to obtain crossover appeal and to remain relevant for proclaiming Christians. We pattern our style, our conversation, our aspirations, and ultimately our lives after influences that were non applicatory years ago. We live in a world where a supposed NEW ERA has emerged so we must move with the times and conform to and be, and do, and think and look like what is expected of us, right? No longer is it becoming to simply be, do, think, look like, sound like, and even live like how it was planted in us from the beginning by ALMIGHTY God. We’ve succumbed to our surroundings, intimidated into keeping our beliefs to ourselves.

As Christians we must hold to the word of God in Romans 12:2 where it tells us , “And be not conformed  to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of  your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God. KJV” Check your attitude. Have you been reading the Word? Check your thoughts. Have you been spending time in prayer? Check your conversation. Have you set aside time to fast? Check your habits. Have you been keeping Godly company? What you subject yourself to will tell you exactly why you’ve been off Or ON spiritually.

We are moved by what we intake. What you think is what you will be. Proverbs 23:7 says “For as he thinketh in his heart so is he:” KJV Yet before there is a thought there is a source upon which a thought is birthed. Daily we consume volumes of information that helps mold us to either be influenced or be influential. For born again believers of Jesus Christ we have received the ultimate source of influence with the power to in turn change the world. So let us make music that is Evangelistic, drawing people to the greatest love of all, Jesus Christ. Let us write and exchange knowledge of substance. Let us dress as women and men as a direct reflection of the Holy God that we serve. Let us be bold and “Hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; for he is faithful that promised; And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works. Hebrews 10:23-24 KJV” I challenge you people of God, to “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” Galatians 5:1 KJV For “How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him.” Hebrews 2:3. Join me in making a change in the world for Jesus Christ, by first understanding the Power of the Influence you have through Jesus Christ.

Xoxo Love,

Excellent post. It’s so important that we learn balance and moderation in all aspects of our lives. We have to remember that we’re in the world, but not of the world and that what we say, do, and think should be a constant reflection of this fact. Thank you for this reality check and wake up call.
